Vestibules, 2018
triptych multi-channel installation, LCD monitors, guardrails

In this corridor, where the scenography is that of an environment that is both common and unusual, familiar and disturbing, you are faced with three video sculptures. For each, the forms appearing on the screens are emanations of reality, recorded at arm’s length by the artist. Faithful because they are captured by 3D scanner technology, these image-shapes are also imperfect, unfinished, almost monstrous. They describe a world traversed by the machine, its morbidity and its coldness. But they also spill out of this observation to evoke the unprecedented links between the mechanical and the organic, between memory and disappearance, between perception and representation.
